John Allen’s Guitar Workshop
John Allen has over 30 years experience in repairing all types of guitars and stringed instruments. As a qualified craftsman and luthier, John has built everything from electric guitars and basses, acoustic and archtop guitars, right through to classical mandolins. John has a wide range of knowledge in instrument construction and repairs specialising in structural repairs, electronics, broken necks, refinishing and refrets. All instrument setups are completed with strobe tuning and spectrum analysing to better than manufacturers specifications. John has a complete workshop setup instore at Billy Hyde Music Southport. All repairs except for major refinishing jobs are completed onsite at the store.

The Billy Hyde Academy located instore provides a wide range of lessons for instruments including Drums, Guitar, Bass, Keyboard and Vocals.
We are proud to employ top level musicians as teachers who have a vast array of teaching and performing experience.
